Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the File Ferret application (the "App") and the fileferret.app website (the "Website"), operated by Vera RCM, Inc. ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on any Mac you personally own or control, subject to these Terms and the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. This license is for personal or internal business use only.

Free Trial and Purchase

The App includes a 3-day free trial with all features unlocked. After the trial period, continued use requires a one-time purchase of $4.99 (or local equivalent) through the Mac App Store. All payment processing is handled by Apple. We do not collect or store any payment information.

Restrictions

You may not:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Redistribute, sublicense, rent, or lease the App to third parties
• Remove or alter any proprietary notices, labels, or marks in the App
• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws

Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, graphics, and documentation, is owned by Vera RCM, Inc. and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. The File Ferret name and logo are trademarks of Vera RCM, Inc. Your purchase grants a license to use the App — it does not transfer ownership of any intellectual property.

Your Files and Data

The App accesses files on your Mac solely to perform search operations you initiate. All file access is local, sandboxed, and on-demand. We do not access, collect, upload, or store any of your files or data. You retain all rights to your files.

Disclaimer of Warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE APP AND WEBSITE ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS, OR THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED. WE MAKE NO WARRANTIES OR REPRESENTATIONS ABOUT THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR RELIABILITY OF ANY SEARCH RESULTS, OCR OUTPUT, OR CONTENT DISPLAYED BY THE APP. YOU USE THE APP ENTIRELY AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL VERA RCM, INC., ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF GOODWILL, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, COST OF SUBSTITUTE SERVICES, OR ANY DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP, REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY (CONTRACT, TORT, STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE), EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING UNDER OR IN CONNECTION WITH THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU ACTUALLY PAID FOR THE APP (CURRENTLY $4.99 USD).

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Vera RCM, Inc., its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any applicable law or regulation.

No Responsibility for Data Loss

While the App only reads files and does not modify, delete, or move them, we accept no responsibility for any data loss, corruption, or damage to files that may occur in connection with your use of the App. You are solely responsible for maintaining backups of your data.

Apple App Store Terms

The App is distributed through the Mac App Store. Your use of the App is also subject to Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and Apple's terms regarding the App, Apple's terms shall govern to the extent of the conflict. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your license to use the App at any time if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, you must stop using the App and delete all copies. Sections regarding intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law survive termination.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Cook County, Illinois.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
